I suppose it says something that three quarters of us Press X to Win bloggers have and are playing this game; and I’m guessing the only reason Ginger doesn’t have it is because she doesn’t own a PSP (yet). Give it time, the siren call may yet bring forth her downfall. But anyway, Dissidia: Final Fantasy has finally arrived legally and in English upon the shores of the United States, and there was much rejoicing. Seriously, this is a game that a very substantial cadre of gamers have been waiting impatiently for. Is it worth the hype? So far I’d have to say yes. Granted, I’m not very good at fighting games. In fact, I suck royally at them, but this isn’t exactly what I’d refer to as a pure fighting game. Dissidia is an unholy conglomeration of fighting game, RPG, and board game with a dash of RTS shoved in there for good measure. What came out of that very unnatural blend is a game that molds itself well to the play-style of whatever sort of player you may be. Read the rest of this entry »
